Some things to get excited about...

The Monday after Derby is always a bummer of a day for me. Last week was full of excitement with what seemed like something fun going on each and everyday. So while I am a bit down today, I thought I'd try to come up with a list of things to get excited about in the near we go.

* The NBA Playoffs - The Bulls and Celtics sadly won't play anymore...but Lebron will be on full display as will several other studs such as Dwight Howard, Kobe Bryant and Chauncey Billups. It'll last for about another month so there's no rush...but you should probably catch at least 2 Cavs games.

* Boombozz Taphouse is actually open. I still haven't been there, but I saw a sign this morning that says "NOW OPEN!". Hopefully sometime this week I'll go in and it will live up to my expectations.

* Abbey Road on the River. It's the biggest Beatles Fest in the world and it just so happens to be about 4 miles from my apartment. It also happens to be just 3 weeks away. If you like the Beatles and are going to be anywhere near Louisville on that's definitely worth going.

* The weather is getting nicer and the days are lasting longer. Sure soon it will be 100 degrees outside and I'll sweat each and every second that I'm awake...but we should still have about 5 more weeks of pretty decent weather. Those days should be filled with outdoor activities such as cookouts, porch sitting, getting ice cream, kickball and taking walks.

* Wilco and the Avett Brothers both have new albums coming out. Sure Wilco's doesn't come out until late June and the Avett's not until August...but they're going to have new info and possibly some preview downloads I'm excited.

* Television finales. TV show season finales are always pretty exciting. They'll be an hour long, there is going to be an unexpected plot twist and it is always going to leave you wanting more. Don't miss the last two episodes of Scrubs ever this Tuesday and Wednesday on ABC.

* It's almost Summer. For crying out loud it's soon to be Summer. Vacations, swimming pools, long days full of's the best. Plus, even though I don't get a summer break this year...Taylor does which is pretty friggin' exciting since she'll be home for 6 weeks! Woo-hoo.

Alright gang, time to forget about the Derby you can see there are some great things on the horizon. So, turn that frown upside down and realize that everything is going to be alright.

Have a good one.
